<p>The public is invited to celebrate Earth Day by recycling old electronics and other items April 25 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Aviation Street softball complex, <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&amp;source=s_q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=455+Aviation+Road,+Marietta,+GA&amp;sll=37.09024,-95.712891&amp;sspn=63.856965,55.986328&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=33.940396,-84.52854&amp;spn=0.008331,0.006834&amp;z=17&amp;iwloc=A">455 Aviation Road</a>. You will be able to watch your electronics as they are recycled on site. </p>

<p>It&#8217;s estimated that there are at least 4.4 million personal computers and 8 million televisions in Georgia. This will eventually become 334,800 tons of garbage in our landfills.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our goal is to promote the recovery, reuse&nbsp;and recycling of obsolete electronic equipment, and to promote the design, manufacture and purchase of environmentally responsible electronic equipment,&#8221; Keep Marietta Beautiful executive director Joan Ellars said. </p>
<p>MOLAM International, 925 Industrial Park Drive, Marietta, GA 30062, will recycle items brought to the event. </p>
<p>The recycling event is sponsored by Keep Marietta Beautiful. </p>
<h3>About Keep Marietta Beautiful</h3>
<p>Keep Marietta Beautiful is a volunteer organization that works in the areas of litter prevention, beautification, community improvement and waste reduction. It is the mission of Keep Marietta Beautiful, the Marietta Clean City Commission, to generate an environmental pride and a sense of ownership within the Marietta community.</p>
<p>The recycling event is part of Marietta&#8217;s 175th anniversary celebration.</p>

The city of Marietta is offering free Christmas tree pick up to city residents the first and second week and the first Wednesday of January 2009. Residents must have their tree &#8212; free of decorations, lights, stands, tinsel and nails &#8212; curbside by 7 a.m. to ensure pick up.</p>
<p>Residents can also bring their live trees to the Marietta Power and Water Complex, 675 North Marietta Parkway.</p>
<p>There is also Free mulch available&#8230;</p>
<p>Trees that are picked up will be recycled into mulch, which is available for free to residents at the Marietta Power and Water Complex.</p>
