The Marietta Post Office just off the Marietta Square is a great location for sending your mail out just about any time of year. As of late, however, the parking lot has been getting a much needed facelift and makeover.

The main parking lot before in the front of the post office was on a huge slope, possibly up to a 30 degree angle so you felt as though you were sliding down into the side of your car when you pulled into the lot. My car always would sit right against the curb in the front of each parking space when I stopped to get out and send my mail.

The new lot they have constructed has completely removed the slope from the lot and there is a nice retaining wall where the hill used to be located. The lot is much flatter and should provide for easier access to the front of the building.

I should also mention that Sybil, Gary and the rest of the workers in the Marietta Main are about a nice as they get. Always a friendly smile and a nice greeting any time you go in. Be sure to pay them an extra thanks this time of year when you head in to drop off your package, even if you have to wait – they go above and beyond every day.
