Citation program reduces time for traffic stops, improves traffic flow

The Marietta Police Department has purchased an electronic traffic citation program for patrol cars, which will reduce the time required when an officer stops a traffic violator, reduce traffic backup and give officers more time to patrol the city.

Georgia’s new dogfighting law is put to use in Cherokee County

Georgia’s new tougher dogfighting law is being put to use in Cherokee County. A Union Hill man faces up to 10 counts of animal cruelty and felony possession of marijuana stemming from an alleged dog breeding operation running out of his home.

Cobb Chamber awards Marietta Police officer for stopping wrong way driver, saving lives

The Cobb County Chamber of Commerce at a ceremony at the Cobb Galleria October 5 awarded Marietta Senior Patrol Officer Michael Carlson the Medal of Valor for stopping a wrong way driver on Interstate 75 last year.

Police Recruits Fired
