Sawyer Road Teacher Named 2008 Milken Award Winner

Congratulations to Sawyer Road Teacher Susan Grigg who was recently named 2008 Milken Award Winner. Susan is the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Coordinator at Sawyer Road Elementary School in Marietta. She is one of two teachers named Georgia’s 2008 National Milken Educators of the Year. Susan received $25,000 and other prizes.

Cobb Chamber awards Marietta Police officer for stopping wrong way driver, saving lives

The Cobb County Chamber of Commerce at a ceremony at the Cobb Galleria October 5 awarded Marietta Senior Patrol Officer Michael Carlson the Medal of Valor for stopping a wrong way driver on Interstate 75 last year.

Flu Shots available in Marietta

Flu season is right around the corner, and now is the time for anyone who does not want to get the flu to get vaccinated. Cobb & Douglas Public Health recently launched its annual seasonal influenza (flu) vaccination campaign. Public health centers throughout Cobb and Douglas counties will administer flu vaccine to the general public.
