This September, there’s something for all types of aficionados! Fine art by Claire Dunaway will be on display during Art Walk, and art aficionados at the Art in the Park festival can take a quick ice cold beverage break at The Strand’s roof top terrace. Musical theater lovers will be dazzled by The Will Rogers Follies and can show their support for local theatre at fundraisers and awards shows. And music lovers will tap their feet to the big band standards that have remained favorites for decades at a big band concert – more information below:

Sept. 4 – 20, Various Show Times. Atlanta Lyric Theatre Presents: The Will Rogers Follies. The first show of the Atlanta Lyric Theatre’s 2009-10 season, this bright and breezy Tony Award-winning production focuses on the life and career of famed humorist and performer Will Rogers, using as a backdrop the Ziegfeld Follies, which he often headlined, and describes every episode in his life in the form of a big production number. The revue contains snippets of Rogers’ famous homespun style of wisdom and common sense to convey the personality of this quintessentially American figure whose most famous quote was “I never met a man I didn’t like.” Gorgeous show girls, rope tricks, big dance numbers and Will Rogers, what more could you ask for in a musical? Tickets range from $32 to $38 and are available through The Lyric box office at (404) 377-9948 or www.atlantalyrictheatre.com.
