Today’s featured merchant is Murphy’s Popcorn in downtown Marietta just off the Square located at 107 Church St. The owner of Murphy’s, Tim Murphy, makes about a dozen specialty flavors each day.
Our favorite is the yellow cheddar, but other include Parmesan garlic, Apple, and a Chicago-style mix that is really tasty! Murphy’s has a great selection of Gourmet Tins that are great for a gift, or for yourself. A small bag is $4; a large one, $6. Party bags, gift boxes and tins are also available.
The shop has a great feel and is very inviting. We love the selection of flavors available at Murphy’s –

French Johnson and I went here thinking it was some kind of middle class hipster bar! Boy! Were we surprised? Yes. The popcorn was popped used the ancient method of machinery and corn. No one does it like that anymore! All the popcorn vendors I go to just pop it in the microwave and hand you the bag for only $11.50! My favorite is TT Zop’s Popcorn Massacre over on Rockin Red Robin Avenue. But this is not the worst!
I give it sixteen postage stamps out of a possible twenty.
