This week the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta will be hosting the 18th annual Mistletoe Market. More than 55 vendors from across the Southeast are signed up for the shopping extravaganza, which will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Cobb County Civic Center, 548 South Marietta Parkway in Marietta. A one-day shopping pass is $6 and three-day pass is $10.Glory Haus, a local Christian-themed arts shop, will be among the vendors.
Glory Haus was created in April by artist Laura Kirkland, 32, of Kennesaw; Molly Holm, 39, of Marietta; Marnie Tanner, 34, of Kennesaw; and Kimberly Kite, 23, of Marietta.
“We’re going to have ceramic ornaments, Christmas balls, pictures frames and canvases,” said Holm, a designer.
“It’s important that our art says something and speaks truth, especially into our children’s and families’ lives,” Holm said. “A lot of our art is Christian, or at least, positive.”
Glory Haus grew out of Kirkland’s personalized pottery business.“One night I said, ‘I can’t do this anymore, you’re going to have to help me,’” recalled Kirkland.
The women eventually recruited Tanner and Kite to help them. All four attend Riverstone Church off Stilesboro Road in Kennesaw.
Kirkland, who designed the decorative pieces, will be at the market on Wednesday and Friday to personalize and sign pieces for shoppers.
