MARIETTA, Ga. — The city of Marietta is working on a plan to put chickens on every corner — fiberglass ones, that is.
Organizers hope to round up 35 sponsors for the birds and to have them on display by Easter. The project stalled when for lack of donors to support the public art exhibit — one that plays off the city’s “Big Chicken,” which serves as a landmark.
But the poultry display is back on track with 10 sponsors thus far. The exhibit will benefit nonprofits and charities in the Marietta area. The deadline for sponsors is November 28th.
Tracy Young is a co-chair of the project called “lil chickens of Marietta.”
Mayor Bill Dunaway asked a group of members from the Marietta-Cobb Junior League to head the project.
