I don’t think that there is always a direct correlation with wisdom and ability. I would suggest that if they are looking for inspirational quotes, they can select any of the many fine passages from Ralph Waldo Emerson. One of my favorites is the following:

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”

Coming a bit late to this, but YES! My husband and I had to shake our heads at that one. There was another one up around the holidays last year that also sounded really funny: something like “Inside every child is an amazing person trying to get out”, as if children aren’t good enough as they are. Whoever is writing those ‘motivational’ signs needs an editor -

Good point.

I think it’s an incomplete quote (by who -I don’t know). To me, it should read something like -Wisdom is the ability to forecast human behavior or to make good choices. As it’s written, it does not make much sense.
